<lj:music>Landslide - The Smashing Pumpkins</lj:music>

('Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others' (Live) - The Smiths)

Okay, so I LOVED today. Yesterday there was a blizzard; but I figured that by the time I actually got outside in the snow it would have already melted away into nothingness... but I'm happy to say that wasn't the case! :)

I woke up this morning to find that it had continued to snow throughout the night, and absolutely EVERYWHERE was covered in a fluffy blanket of disney-esque snow. I don't know, it was really surreal... I just didn't expect it to stick around. I honestly didn't get my hopes up.

I may seem just a tad too excited over the fact that it snowed here, but I live in London for crying out loud. We don't get much snow, just rain, and if it DOES snow at some point it's generally the kinda that immediately turns to a grey slush that you have to carefully maneuver through when walking down the street. I've fallen in it countless times, and it's not fun.

One of my earliest memories is being about three years old and playing in the snow in the garden of my old house. I think that's the last time it snowed so heavily here (they said something about 8 inches of snow in south london last time I checked - yay!). So, it's weird, because I don't usually get to take advantage of the snow when we do get it - I usually had to go into school, uni, whatevs, and by the time I could relax it was slushi again - I kinda reverted back to being a kid today. I made an AWESOME snowman which totally kicks the butt of that pathetic one I built all those years ago... but it was like a nice link to the past. Kinda profound, a bit sad, but nice all the same.

I'm hoping that uni/the transport system in london is still totally screwed tomorrow as well, because I so want another day off! It's so much more fun having snowball fights, eating soup and watching 'Heathers' than worrying about getting books for my dissertation from the university library. If the snow hasn't melted tomorrow I could even build my snowman a friend!

Okay, this is soo productive :/

Andddd another thing. The snow has totally reminded me of that movie 'Cannibal!: The Musical' by the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, in which there is a hilar song about building a snowman... so I know whatever happens tomorrow I'll end up searching for that movie as well!

    <lj:music>Everything Will Flow - Suede</lj:music>

(Above lyrics: 'Daisy Duke' - Rooney.)

It's terrible, I keep thinking of stuff to post here and then promptly forget it again... instead of writing something interesting or witty (it could happen!) I am reduced to sitting in-front of my computer going 'guhh' and then looking up ridiculous videos such as the Gladiators theme song on youtube. I should so be banned from the internet.

Another thing, some realllyyy important stuff happens, but I completely forget to comment!... It's not the same writing about Barack Obama's inauguration today, it'll be like I'm copying everyone else's opinions... but for the record I think he is great, I was completely captivated as I watched him, I did get teary and wow, I'm already hatching a plot to clone him or something... okay, that sounds weird, but seriously, WE need a Barack Obama! Sure Gordon Brown is a very nice man, but we didn't even elect him... he is a bit dull in comparrison... and I don't like that weird thing he does with mouth :s

Basically, I am still so useless on this thing... I'm going to do this MEME that the lovely serepink tagged for me the other day...
Now lets see if I can work out how to use the ljcut thing! (Soo sorry if I can't).

Ten Random Things Meme

1. I have one tattoo - it's the Smashing Pumpkins heart logo (in pink!) on my right ankle; the band that has the honour of being my favourite. Because it's so cold here and jeans are a must I barely notice I have it!

2. People have compared me to the alien, Roger, in American Dad. Apparently I walk like him, and I notice the similarity myself when carrying things (look like I'm clinging onto it so I won't float away...); he can also recite the ending of 'The Breakfast Club' like me. I can't believe I identify with a cartoon alien, pysch 101 much?

3. The only fish I like is tuna and fish fingers. I am too freaked out to eat anything else because I am scared of the bones.

4. Because of this stupid poem I can name all the Kings and Queens of England in order... a useful talent I'm sure :/

5. My favourite film is 'The Little Mermaid' and it has been my favourite since I was two;... I know all the dialogue. ALL of it.

6. I say stupid things a lot. I'm not trying to appear cute or endearing, I am just actually stupid... this is why I'm not mean to chavs (such as Jordan a.k.a Katie Price who once told someone to eat their 'apple' instead of 'humble' pie) because seriously, I am possibly going to have a degree in ENGLISH in a few months time, and if I'M this stupid, then how can I be mean to THEM?

7. Mr Darcy and many other book characters, tv/film characters (especially stupid 80s ones who hold up boom-boxes outside of girl's windows) and disney princes have totally ruined my love life. Oh, me ;P

8. I am really scared of gregorian or 'plain' chant. I don't know why, I think it's because it doesn't fit in with my accepted musical rules/formats (i think it doesn't even have a key or something like that... like I can remember back to GCSE music!) everyone else thinks this is totally funny but I so don't.

9. The first band I was ever obsessed with was Hanson who first burst onto the music scene in an MMMBop (zing) in 1997 when I was nine. They were also the first band I ever asked my parents to take me to, and I saw them in June 1998. I did drift for awhile (but never stopped listening to the music I had) and I still love them immsensely. Taylor Hanson getting married in 2002 upset me profoundly at the time...lmao! Then I got a life. And now Alan Hanson is ruining it, j/k.

10. I honestly look nothing like Keira Knightley, I can't even remember where this nick-name came from now. I don't even like her; anyone who says Johnny Depp is a bad kisser MUST be wrong in the head... am I right? ;)
